Khalid Koujili El Yakoubi (he/him, 1989) is an actor and theatre maker. He earned his master’s degree in Drama from KASK (Ghent) in 2020 with the graduation performance Don’t make it about you, on the representation of ‘the other’ in European western theatre. Also in 2020, he brought together with Martha Balthazar the State of the Youth at Het Theaterfestival, where they made a plea for radical change, reminding the theatre sector of its whiteness and relationship to the non-white other. Khalid was one of the Montignards, made with Thomas Bellinck De bevrijding van het Edelhert (2020) for Het Paleis, and performed in Vlaems (chez moi) van Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui (2022). Together with detheatermaker, he worked on Divide and Rule (2023).
