Mira Maria Studer

Mira Maria Studer (1996, she/they) creates performances that play with modes of address from both singing and contemporary dance. Born in Solothurn, CH, she is now based in Brussels, BE.

After being trained in music and singing, they completed a B.A. in contemporary dance at La Manufacture in Lausanne, CH, continued training at La Faktoria in Pamplona, ES, and received an M.A. from P.A.R.T.S., BE. Mira is part of the swiss based performance collective noDIN, together with Sophie Germanier, Dustin Kenel and Yadin Akira Bernauer, which was supported by Danse & Dramaturgie by ProHelvetia in 2021, and premiered two works at Theater Südpol, Lucern, CH.

Her M.A. graduation work songunsung has been shown at Love at First Sight in Antwerp and is being adapted in 2026 to museum contexts for KMSKA and KANAL. Their new research on yodelling and football chanting is supported by detheatermaker as well as by le Gouvernement, with residencies at BUDA and workspacebrussels.

Mira’s artistic practice is busy with wilfully wrong interpretations of songs into choreographic experiences. Recently, she has been exploring digitalisation as an act of interpretation, and the weirdly touching disorientation when an acoustic voice recites something digital.

She loves karaoke.
