Nona Demey Gallagher

Nona Demey Gallagher (1995, she/her) is a theatre director and actress. She obtained her master’s degree in drama from KASK in Ghent in 2020 and forms the collective KRAPP together with Mats Vandroogenbroeck and Timo Sterckx. She also studied Flemish Sign Language at Doof Vlaanderen.
In 2023, she directed Up Your Ass (detheatermaker) and De Duivels/Les Diables (KRAPP & KVS). In Up Your Ass, she and Lieselot Siddiki bring to life the controversial 1965 comedy by Valerie Solanas. The performance was selected for the Radikal Jung Festival 2024 in Munich and for The Theatre Festival 2024, where it won the award for Best Team Play.
Earlier in 2019, she and Imke Mol created the performance E R O T I C A, in which she translated erotic poetry by female authors into Flemish Sign Language.
Nona collaborated with Ontroerend Goed, Lies Pauwels & Frederik Neyrinck / LOD, deSingel, KOPERGIETERY, Beeldsmederij De Maan, VIERNULVIER, Night Shift, among others.
In 2023, she was laureate of the PrixFintro Prize in the dance/theatre category and also won the audience award.
In 2025, she creates A Room Of His Own, a performance about the life and work of radical anti-pornofeminist Andrea Dworkin. With a satirical eye, the play explores the promises and contradictions of sexual liberation, and confronts the audience with the power of pornographic fantasies in our society.
