Urtė Groblytė & Judith Dhondt
Urtė Groblytė & Judith Dhondt are a performer-maker duo based in Brussels who met at P.A.R.T.S. during their master’s studies (STUDIOS), resulting in two collaborative master projects: ‘A LOVELY CONSTRUCTION SITE’ & ‘DUST’. Their artistic practice results into performances and publications, starting from a reading practice with a strong interest in erotics, body horror, the abject, ecology, feminist/queer sci-fi… – works in which the bodily, physical experience is always intensely palpable in the language. In the studio, they begin from a love for fiction: creating “fantastic” worlds in which beings can transform, move in and out of each other, and where text can be a spirit, a ghostly lover. Methodically, they are interested in pushing things together that don’t seem to belong at first, collage & the eclectic.
Since graduating, they took part in the Shake your Skills program ( with BUDA and detheatermaker) and worked on a publication in collaboration with Arno Huygens during their residency in Kintai Arts (LT) which will continue to be developed in 2026.
In season 26-27 they are re-opening the creation process of ‘DUST’, which will premiere in Almost Summer Festival, BUDA, in June. Next to that, they are starting a new playing research called ‘ilOvetOyOu’ (workspacebrussels & garage29) in collaboration with Marikki Nyfors and Lorenzo Higueras.
Judith Dhondt (she/they, BE, 1998) is a performer, maker and writer. For the past years they have been active as a performer/maker in the collective: NOON. NOON is a transdisciplinary collective that nourishes interconnection, moved by environmental issues and by the question of relationality in a broad sense. Their last piece ‘And now the beginning is somewhere else’ premiered in Beyond the Black Box and will grow into a nomadic platform called ‘NOON days’. In 2021 Judith graduated from the MA program, Drama, of KASK (Ghent, BE) and the MA program of P.A.R.T.S. (Brussels, BE) called STUDIOS where they developed their artistic practice with Urtė Groblytė.
Urtė Groblytė (she/her, LT, 1999) is a maker and performer based in Brussels working within dance, theatre, and choreography. Fiction, poetry, and storytelling — alongside a deep engagement with physicality — shape her artistic process, fostering a continuous dialogue between text and movement. Urtė finished National M.K. Čiurlionis School of Arts (LT) with classical ballet training. Between 2018−2019 she studied modern dance in Folkwang University of Arts. In 2022 she graduated from B.A. program at P.A.R.T.S. and finished a M.A. program STUDIOS there in 2024. Next to her work as a maker, she is collaborating with a visual artist Ode de Kort and a choreographer Josef Simon as a performer, and is starting a new collaboration with Eleni Roberts Kazouri and Vladimir Babinchuk Outerelo on the project ‘DARK WAVES’ supported by Centrale di Fies, Italy.
