Makers* Monday

Makers* Monday

For this special edition of Makers* Monday, we move to Antwerp! Are you a maker based in Flanders or Brussels and do you have questions about bridging to the Dutch arts field? For example, would you like to expand your network across the border, or are you curious if and where your work can be presented and/or developed in the Netherlands?

Then come on Monday 2 June to the Makers* Monday in cooperation with detheatermaker.
In an informal two-hour session, we will cover a variety of topics, such as:

  • relevant funds and grant opportunities
  • development and presentation venues in the Netherlands
  • differences and similarities between the Flemish and Dutch arts fields
  • and other practical and substantive aspects of working across the border.

Present at the discussion will be Kim Snauwaert (Festival Cement), Robin Laurens (de Brakke Grond), Lotte Vrancken, Matilda Rasquin (detheatermaker) and Zita de Vos (Workspacebrussels).

Festival Cement is a stage for the work of a new generation of performing artists from Flanders and the Netherlands in Den Bosch, giving space and visibility to their development.

De Brakke Grond works with makers (artists active in visual art, music, theatre, dance, and transdisciplinary art forms) whose working practices are based in Flanders and Brussels. Based in Amsterdam, the house supports makers in building lasting links with the Netherlands.

Workspacebrussels supports artistic voices in developing a sustainable practice. The organisation offers performing artists an intricate and flexible working framework that ranges from studio space with budget over (co)production and administration to advice on all aspects of development and creation. By connecting artists with programmers, partners and audiences, workspacebrussels acts as an indispensable link in the artistic ecosystem of research, production and presentation.
Anyone working in the performing arts is welcome. Depending on your needs, the spoken language is Dutch and/or English. Participation is free!
