JOB OPENING COÖRDINATOR COMMUNICATION

ROLE
detheatermaker is looking for someone to help develop and implement the organisation’s communication policy. We attach great importance to strong, substantive communication about our artists and their artistic work. Our communication is primarily aimed at a professional audience (B2B): (emerging) artists, programmers, the press and partners at home and abroad.
You will guide artists in communicating about their own projects – both in production and in development – and support the DTM team in writing the new policy plan, including editorial work. In addition, like the other members of the team, you will prospect for (graduation) performances and showcases, with a focus on creators in the first five years of their careers.
You will work closely with a small team of four employees (in addition to you, one artistic director, one business manager and one production manager), who together support various new creators.
TASKS
Responsible for daily communication policy:
Management of the website, Facebook, Instagram, Vimeo, Tiktok, Pixelfed, Mastodon, etc.
Drafting and sending newsletters and invitations
Writing and editing texts (bios, project texts, credits, etc.), translations, etc.
Monitoring visual material (photos/videos)
Managing the database of professional contacts
Monitoring guest lists, audience figures, etc.
Managing the communications budget
Developing communication plans for artists (retro planning):
Press: invitations, press kits, contacting and following up with journalists, etc.
Point of contact for venues and partners for communication material
Supporting the writing process for the new policy plan:
Working with the team to consider the form and general direction of the dossier
Writing and editing chapters within the dossier
Prospecting:
DTM will look at new work as much as possible. Invitations will be distributed among the DTM team and the external sounding board group, the resonants. All prospected work will be discussed on a monthly basis.
PROFILE
You have a genuine interest in new artistic work and new creators.
You have experience in and affinity with the performing arts sector. An extensive network is an advantage.
You work independently and accurately.
You are critical, inventive, enthusiastic and collegial.
You see work and coordinate chaotic schedules.
You think proactively and solution-oriented.
You enjoy communicating effectively with colleagues, artists, programmers, partners, press contacts and the public.
You love communication in all its forms (verbal/paper/digital/etc.) and enjoy thinking about innovative forms, channels or actions of communication.
You speak and write Dutch and English fluently and have at least a basic knowledge of French.
You are familiar with Mac, Office, Mailchimp, WordPress and have a basic knowledge of Photoshop and InDesign.
OFFER
A challenging and varied job in an exciting arts organisation.
A 2.5/5 fixed-term contract (1 year).
Remuneration according to scale (PC304) supplemented by reimbursement of commuting expenses and meal vouchers.
You will be based in Antwerp, but will also follow the nomadic existence of detheatermaker to Brussels, Ghent, Ostend, Amsterdam, etc. Periods of evening and weekend work (e.g. for performances and premieres).
