A crock of bull at the crack of dawn

In A crock of bull at the crack of dawn theatre-maker, performer and designer Rachid Laachir explores metamorphoses. Through the use of body, voice, costumes and other objects, he creates characters at the intersection of the natural and the human, the magical and the mystical.

Small and big emotions pass through the performance. Every scene is an act of love or of violence, of ego or of god, of life or of death, an act of importance, an act of boredom.

Through a collage of acts, Rachid Laachir searches for a universal language, away from reason, towards madness. He takes you on a crazy, visual and colourful trip where imagination is central.

“In order to control life we try to name it, in order to control death we perform it.”
