Kidnapped – Frames of a Contemporary Landscape

Kidnapped – Frames of a Contemporary Landscape

Kidnapped – Frames of a Contemporary Landscape is a powerful and surprising theatre production that takes a close look at our times. What if the world we live in is actually a shared political hallucination – shaped by neoliberal ideas, colonial legacies and a system that makes us believe that there is “no alternative”?
Using the metaphor of a kidnapping, Kidnapped shows how our choices – cultural, political and personal – are often driven by market interests and identity struggles, without the real power structures ever being shaken.
In the performance, two characters, Terror and Compassion, take the audience on a journey that begins as a playful children’s show but quickly takes a dark turn. They treat the audience as “kidnapped children” and lead them through a spiral-shaped dramaturgy past confrontational political insights and historical spectres – from world leaders to pop icons.
Kidnapped is a theatrical experience that invites the audience to rethink power, resistance and their own role in the bigger picture. A sensory, stimulating call to wake up, reflect and take action.
